Hi Everybody!

I've got a new remix by McDoC for you today.

My own DreamTime Mix re-edits are extended versions in the style of DJ services like Disconet, Razormaid & Hot Tracks - so look forward to 70's/80's style extended 12" mixes.

I'm using Audacity to create these remixes - it's easy to use & it's free!!!

My DreamTime Departures series are collections of my favourite chill-out tracks, library music, jazz, soundtracks & modern downtempo classics.

Besides that I'll also post mash-ups, rarities, out-of-print albums and whatever else strikes my fancy.

I got a new remix by McDoC for you today today.

It's the 1988 single Orange Crush by American band R.E.M.. You can find the original version of this track on their album Green.

McDoC again used multi tracks for this 7:36 minute mix. Besides on his own blog he can also be found as my partner-in-crime over at Strictly Mixes.

Hi Everybody!

...and hallo from San Salvador/El Salvador.

I got a new DreamTime Mix of one of the greatest extended guitar solo songs of all time for you today.

It's the 1971 track Maggot Brain by American band Funkadelic. You can find the original version of this track on their album Maggot Brain.

I combined the Alternate Mix, the 1971 Live Version & a small snippet from the Album Version. The mix clocks in at 18:15 minutes.

Hi Guys!

I got a new remix by McDoC for you today today.

It's the 1983 single Rebel Yell by British singer Billy Idol. You can find the original version of this track on his album Rebel Yell.

Here is what McDoC had to say about this 9:33 minute mix:

"This is the first multi-track I've remixed and I finished it at twilight, hence the title. I used the synth part for the intro along with Billy's vocals then did the arrangement in old-school 80's mixing fashion. Ain't multitracks cool? Here's hoping they put out more of these using the original recordings."

That sums it up for me. Besides on his own blog McDoC can also be found as my partner-in-crime over at Strictly Mixes.

I combined the Album Version & the 12" Glamour Mix. The mix clocks in at 9:56 minutes.

Hi Everybody!

Today marks the 25th anniversay of the release of the album Welcome To The Pleasuredome by British band Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

I felt like commemorating the occasion with v2.0 of my DreamTime Mix of the title track Welcome To The Pleasuredome.

I used the Escape Video Act Mix, the Fruitness Mix, the Pleasure Fix Mix & the Album Mix for this re-edit. It's quite a bit shorter and more streamlined than v1.0 and clocks in at 16:45 minutes.

I got a repost of an older DreamTime Mix for you today.

It's the 2004 single Everybody's Changing by British band Keane. You can find the original version of this track on their album Hopes And Fears.

I only had the Original Version to work with and only spend 20 minutes on the mix, so don't expect too much. The re-edit clocks in at 4:40 minutes.

It's the 1984 single Two Tribes by British band Frankie Goes To Hollywood. You can find the original version of this song on their debut album Welcome To The Pleasuredome.

I used the Video Destructo Mix, the Instrumental Album Mix, the 7" Cowboys And Indians Mix, the 12" Annihilation Mix, the 12" Carnage Mix & the Hibakusha Mix. The re-edit clocks in at 17:51 minutes.

UPDATE 9/30/09: Hi Guys! thanx to all who have donated so far - after some tips from the comment section i contacted western digital and they might replace the hard drive. i send it off today - cross your fingers that it'll go quickly - i have several new mixes i like to attempt. if it works out i would gladly repay any donations received on request. thanx again!!!

Hi Everybody!

My PC's hard drive died a sudden death a couple of days ago (only 8 months old - what a rip off) and I won't be able to post much or attempt new remixes until it's fixed.

I asked for and received donations 8 months ago for the same problem and would really appreciate any help towards the cost of another new hard drive! No amount is too small!

Thanx a bundle to anybody that is helping to get me up & running again!

Dear Friends!

My grandfather, "Opa" Willi Andexer passed away last saturday. He flew in the Battle Of Britain, he was a major league soccer player in the late 1940's in Germany and he raised me from age 3 to 13. Needless to say that he was a hero of mine...

The song Das Gibt's Nur Einmal (This Only Happens Once) by Lilian Harvey from the movie Der Kongress Tanzt was a hit when Opa was 11 years old. I don't know if he liked it, but it's lyrics and sentiment carry sweet sorrow for me right now...

Please pray for Opa, my family & me...

It's the 1969 single Music For My Mother by American band Funkadelic. You can find the original version of this track on their album Music For Your Mother, which compiles all their singles from 1968 to 1976. A slightly different version is available on their self-titled debut album Funkadelic.

I combined the Original Single Version & the Original Instrumental Version. The mix clocks in at 9:37 minutes.

Sadly, there is no video of this song by the band...

It's the Australian 12" Remix of the 1982 single Cat People [Putting Out Fire] by British musician & actor David Bowie.

The label states that the mix is 6:41 minutes long, but this remix actually lasts 9:20 minutes. It has not been released in any other form!

Todays selection is the 1995 single Street Corner Symphony by British DJ duo Street Corner Symphony.

This download was made available by DJhistory.com as a teaser to the just released album The Very Best Of Street Corner Symphony.

Here is some more info about this release:

"Street Corner Symphony, the brainchild of soulboy Glen Gunner, in cahoots with Pete Z, was part of a wave of British house music producers from the early ’90s that included Black Science Orchestra, Joey Negro, Sensory Productions, KCC and Fire Island who were clearly more inspired by New York and its disco past than the jackin' Chicago house. They released their brilliant debut single on Open (and featuring DJ Harvey on percussion), Ministry of Sound’s early foray into releasing 12-inches, before going on to produce a series of spacey house records for their own label and others. We‘ve gathered together the best of their releases on to one compilation which also includes three previously unreleased tunes, including the mythic original version of Street Corner Symphony (all 20 minutes of it!)."
